Mike is the editor-in-chief of Rebound magazine. For the past two years, he has been working together with the Rebound team to produce what he hopes is a high quality college basketball magazine. His vision for Rebound is to make it as much a part of college hoops tradition as cheer squads and rabid fans.

  • Spinning Back Fist says:

Well, hmmm…. Blue Eagles and the Golden Stags’ main men. Reward ba, for sweeping the first round.

    • sketch says:

why not? they deserve to be on the cover as they both lead their respective leagues with unblemished records.

      • Bulangis Madungis says:

        Anybody but Baste!!!!

        • Takeda says:

          Why not baste?

          • Bulangis Madungis says:

You cannot keep a lie forever. If that Abueva cover up pops out, this issue will self implode on REBOUND for not doing a through job on looking for truths and facts. Unless they pursue an expose’.

          • Spinning Back Fist says:

            @ Madungis,
Sure, Abueva looks really old, Pero kung makapagsalita ka parang sandigan ka nang katotohanan ah. Keep a lie forever? Abueva cover up? Is there even a lie? Is there even a cover up?
And what if San Sebastian resists, or be defensive, guilty na sila?

          • wye says:

i agree with SBF…hindi naman porket mukhang matanda ay matanda na talaga. lebron james for example, he did not look like an 18 y/o when he entered the nba…madami din ako kilala na mukhang matanda pero hindi pa naman talaga. i thought it was just a poke the bedans are using against abueva coz they hate him…coz he is so good. never really thought someone actually thinks abueva and san sebastian are covering up something.

          • YounghusbandsPLAY4SanBedaFC says:

he has questionable history accompanied by his physical features. kung mukha lang basehan sino tatalo kay greg oden? dude looks like in his 40′s

          • Dennis says:

I only used to hate his on court antics. I wouldn’t be surprised if the rumors are true though. Their benefactor aren’t exactly ehem nevermind na nga lang. Kakagaling ko lang sa misa kanina.

          • Dennis says:

BTW congrats pala Wye. Ano na pala standing nyo?

          • Z says:

            5-5 na ata sir D

          • Spinning Back Fist says:

Meron akong kilala, sa amin dun sa Roxas, Isabela. Three years younger than me, but he looks forty something, kasi nasaksak at nawalan nang isang kidney. Baka ganun din si Calvin Abueva.

          • red rampant says:

We want Calvn Abueva not just for the purpose of a single intention. It is not just about his doubtful age based on an observance from his physique. His feats and performance calls the attention. Every athlete in the world has been documented through in-depht interviews. It is best to read facts based on first hand information. No one knows anyone except himself. It not just all about his roots and history, but also marital status, what’s the age of his kid, his favorite food, influence, fav subjects, etc. Let’s not make the interview sound like an intention to exploit a single fact. Let the truth come out by its true nature. Spilling out the beans using indirect questions. It would be best if it comes with a video posted in Inboundpass.

  • good luck with that. everyone wants to be BIDA. HAHA

  • SK says:

si BRP yung MVP nya !

  • NU_Askal says:

  • scap21 says:

  • SK says:

kelan ba yung nu vs admu ?

  • mohicans says:

The rebounding leader of NCAA & UAAP!!!

  • Hungry Lion says:

si BRP at SK naka hug! hihihi huhuhu.. malapit na laro niyo sa kanila, malapit na din kayo tsambakan.. hihihi huhuhu

  • manopo says:

abueva and get to know his real story!

    • boo says:

      I second the motion…

    • Spinning Back Fist says:

      More than interesting yan, hehehe.

    • college baller says:

    • manopo says:

abueva is like a super hero,di mo alam saan nagaling, unscouted, tapos he is dominating all leagues na sinasalihan nya!

    • red rampant says:

Yeah, a history of a MAN who emerged in collegiate basketball. We want to know his history. I challenge REBOUND magazine on this. “Help fans on this”. Calvin Abueva,… the Stags BEFORE, now and after. It would be best if there are pictures. REBOUND magazine will sell like hotcakes. Just imagine the thousands if not the millions of fans who would grab a copy. If REBOUND won’t then some other magazine will be interested in this. Its part of investigative journalism. I will buy an advertorial or page add for my company plus my I will encourage my business club to buy an advertising space in REBOUND Magazine. Go REBOUND!

      • Daedalus says:

Time to put your money where your mouth is REBOUND, you asked for it!!! True investigative journalism will be your test. GO REBOUND! GO FIND ABUEVA’s TRUE ROOTS!

        • Hellboy says:

          Puwede! Lol!

        • agree. why don’t we put the issue to rest once and for all. para matigil na kaming mga Bedista, d ba?

after all, wala namang dapat katakutan kung walang tinatago, correct?

        • red rampant says:

REBOUND may have the intention and the works to interview Calvin Abueva, but he may decline or select questions. What’s advisable is there would be an in-depth interview and a documentary. It may sound offending if it is a straight forward investigative jourmnalism but documentary type. That will be the best selling issue aside from the championship issues.

  • red rampant says:

I would go for a team that is not expected to win games but did win the games. I would go for LPU. no one ever expected they would beat teams in NCAA. If UAAP, no argue, its the Blue Eagles.

  • Waka-waka says:

    Para maiba naman…. PERPETUAL ALTAS….

  • Hungry Lion says:

Thanks for giving an idea, don’ worry guys.. if di ginawa ng Rebound ang history about Calvin Abueva. Summit Media will do it. Pero lets wait for Rebounds issue muna. pero gandang idea yun ah. maraming salamat! :)

  • Mrs. SK says:

Ipityur niyo nalang mister ko! Muuuuuaaaaahhhh

  • Hungry Lion says:

@ sir banned – im working for summit media po. :) but I wont steal the scoop if Rebound decides to do the cover for Abueva’s history.

  • SK says:

    petik petik langs…… pssst…pssst….pssst

  • Dennis says:

Di ba pwedeng mga CSRs hehe

  • Hungry Lion says:

    @ Daedalus – Thank you sir! :)

  • SK says:

yun na lang tsamba ng atenisting sa ue 74-70.

  • Hungry Lion says:

Yes, Sir Botchi is a proud bedan :)

  • Hungry Lion says:

Sir Michael Gohu Yu no offense po, I read your magazine. I admire your write ups and cover. We just want to know the history of Calvin Abueva. :) that’s all! Arguable the best collegiate player today.

  • Wow, we have a lot of passionate fans here. :)

Thanks for all your suggestions. We were asking for your help to choose the cover of our next issue, but all these great ideas came out. Thanks a lot! Without you guys, we wouldn’t be around.

Regarding the major topic being discussed — Calvin Abueva –, we did interview him for the next issue, together with Sangalang and Pascual. We did not take the angle of making an expose of any sort (if there’s anything to expose in the first place). The angle of our story is how these three form the nucleus of a strong Baste squad. We do dive into some of their personal histories, too. I hope you look forward to the next issue, nonetheless!

    Thanks a lot!

    • red rampant says:

That would be great MGY. The stories are interesting, but it would be great if it would be an interview on the number one collegiate player with multiple awards-Calvin Abueva.

    • banned says:

no offense, sir but the last issue was a bit outdated when it came out. was pretty disappointed. as a loyal reader, i’ve bought every issue that came out, i was expecting better. no lineups, no stats, etc. i hope that this next issue comes out on time. there’s a japanese business practice that learned from my six sigma training, we use daily in our line of work, JIT. it stands for just in time. it’s pretty pointless if this mid-season issue comes out during the finals, right? we’re hoping for a better 2nd issue for the year. good luck and God bless!

      • No offense taken either, banned! Thanks for the feedback. We were fully aware that we were late. We ran into some issues that we could not avoid. My sincere apologies.

We are aiming to come out by the Final Four for the next issue. Please do continue to support us!

Hope you get a black belt. :)

  • shobe says:

green peppers in a 2 piece bikini!!! that would be a treat!

  • araguy says:

for me basta feature NCAA teams naman! lagi na lang UAAP ang may features. suggestion lang.

  • ironman says:

Its been 3years since Abueva join SSCR. Up to now most Bedans are still complaining w/ regards to the true age of Abueva, how come if there is discrepancy 1st year pa lang dapat disqualify na siya. Iam just wondering kung pag tabihin ang mukha ni Abueva and Sudan Daniel, sino po mas mukhang matanda? just asking…

    • now who’s onion skinned? your side was complaining about imports since sudan came in, right? so, why complain about Bedans ribbing at abueva’s age?

“if you can’t stan the heat, get out of the kitchen.”

    • manopo says:

yeah its been 3 years! but no concrete history yet! What high school did he came from, how was his childhood, how did he start to play? Abueva is a superstar, pang-PRO na nga daw, just like Manny Pacquiao maraming interesado sa kwento nya! His story might even become an inspiration to others!

    • Dennis says:

Even though Sudan is SUPPOSEDLY 1 year older mas mukha po siyang mas bata

    • red rampant says:

Sudan has lifestyle. he likes music, shoes, movies. He’s got a facebook wherein he posts pics on his activities and past life. Calvin has present pictures. Where is the past? I don’t even see anyone who is connected with his past, grade school or highschool. I don’t see any gradeschool picture or highschool unlike other players, meron. Why?

  • shobe says:

si tito calvin ang dapat sa rebound magazine.

  • Tax says:

    Jaz Reyes
    Bea Coronel
    Andrea Recto
    Tiff Atentido

Sana in color coded bikinis, please, please?!!

  • lj2 says:

Tax, pang FHM ata request mo e :)
