Arellano shocks Letran in emphatic fashion

ARELLANO University is turning out to be an unruly guest in its debut stint in NCAA Season 85.
The Chiefs took home their second straight win after upsetting favored Colegio de San Juan de Letran, 81-73. Versatile big man Gio Ciriacruz carried the fight for the Legarda unit with 17 points and six rebounds as the Chiefs erected leads as large as 20 with three minutes left in the first half.
It was all Arellano from the get-go as its suffocating pressure defense put the clamps on Letran sniper RJ Jazul. The RP Developmental Team stalwart managed to score a measly eight points on 2-of-13 shooting from the field. Making matters worse for Louie Alas’ wards was the stellar play of Andrian Celada and Rod Apostol, who scored 14 and 12, respectively.
The Knights tried to inch closer in the fourth quarter and even brought the lead down to three, 76-73. However, Rey Guevarra missed an easy layup with 30 seconds left in the game, which led the Knights to foul and send Arellano to the charity stripe. Guevarra led the Knights with 17 points and eight boards.
A usually potent outside shooting quintet, the Muralla squad shot a dismal 6-for-34 from three-point range. In contrast, Junjie Ablan’s wards made 10-of-23 from rainbow territory, and scored 17 turnover points off Letran’s 16 errors.
Arellano now finds itself atop the league with a 2-0, win-loss slate, while Letran suffered its second consecutive loss after falling short against Jose Rizal University on opening day.

Letran 73 – Guevarra 17, Belencion 15, J. Alas 8, Jazul 8, Cortes 7, del Rosario 7, Foronda 7, K. Alas 2, Taplah 2.

In your honest opinion, what do you think of the failed attempts of the traitor Japeth Aguilar?
We all know that he left the Ateneo University because he was supposed to be suspended because of failing grades, left to become the first ever Full Filipino to play at the NBA.
But malas, His career was injury plagued and never made any impact at all!
Now he returned home a failure.

sasabihin ko na sa inyo ang totoo nangyayari sa ncaa ngayon. im part of the mancom bfore… issue 1. letran coach louie alas. he is a very very good coach he motivates well the players.. he dont give up. alam nya ang makakbuti para sa future sa mga players.. madami lang sumisira sa kanya. lalo na mga employees ng letran. madaming ingit sa kanya the way he coach. Y? kasi lagi sya final 4 appearance at a champion coach. maswerte ang letran to have louie alas and the coaching staff iba mag train, tlagang tutok sa lhat ng players from pg to center. hindi sla nag ggive up. nakita ko ang programa nya. kht sinasabi na mahina ang team for season 85. ganun tlga ang letran.. wlng star dun.. defensive team sla. never give up. 2. dpat 2.0 na ang letran. madaming issue ako naririnig.. sa jru.. may lagay sa ref.from alumni at pati sla cagoco at wilson naglalagay para pabor ang tawag sa kanila. kumpyansa lang yung 2 players. pati arellano may lagay din.. di ako magtataka pag natalo pa ang letran sa uphd. malamang may nag lagay dun.. hindi ko sinasbi na uphd. pero may sindikato na sa ncaa para laruin and twag. totoo ito.. sana magawan ng action.

oh chief craps and shits. the hell what is AU? The Knights were just adjusting as a team when you beat them. And now what? Turning the table upside down on you. Edi doon kayo sa NCRAA na kung saan hindi naman sikat. Para kayong baranggay league na may sapatos nga wala na mang medyas at bulok pa gamit.
Chief Sitting Bull, get your AU Chiefs back to NCRAA mas bagay kayo dun dahil NCRAA looks as if it doesn’t exists. Mag champion muna kayo sa NCAA ng lagpas sampu tulad ng Letran bago puro dakdak…hahahaha
