The University of San Jose-Recoletos Jaguars came out on fire from start to finish and prevented a sweep by 7-time defending champions, the University of Visayas Green Lancers, 86-53, in their Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) 2008 best of five Finals series held at the Cebu Coliseum last October 6, 2008.

Luther Luke Justiniani, literally absent in Games 1 and 2,  finally broke out with an impressive performance with 25 points, 3 steals, and 4 assists to lead the Jaguars.

League MVP Greg Slaughter, frustrated by the Jaguars’ quick double teaming effort at the post coupled with a high octane transition offense at every opportunity, was a non-factor in this ball game with only 4-points to his credit.

The Green Lancers still lead the series with a 2-1 slate.  Game 4 will be on October 8, 2008 at 3:30pm  also at the Cebu Coliseum.

This is the 4th time that the Jaguars and Green Lancers square off in a Finals Series. The Green Lancers swept the Jaguars in last three appearances when former UE point guard Earn Saguindel was still playing for the Jaguars.
