FEU star Baracael shot, in critical but stable condition

FAR EASTERN University mainstay Mac Baracael was shot tonight, July 24, 2008.
Baracael was reported to have been with teammates Ron Cabagnot and Robert Kave outside the FEU gym when a car drove by and a shot simultaneously heard.
After Cabanot and Kave looked around, they saw a bloodied Baracael on the ground. The shooting occurred at the corner of Morayta and R. Papa streets, near a Philtrust bank branch.
Cabagnot and Kave said that they did not see who fired the shot. Reports say that Baracael was shot twice at the back with a .45 caliber, with the bullets penetrating his body. Reports also say that one of his lungs was punctured.
As of presstime, Baracael is in critical but stable condition at the Mary Chiles Hospital in Sampaloc, Manila.
According to FEU coach Glen Capacio, Baracael is in “stable condition but still under observation.” FEU representative to the UAAP board Anton Montinola, for his part, called his player’s situation “delicate.”
This is a horrific and unfortunate incident that warrants our thoughts and prayers.

I was surprise about Baracael’s condition. I heard the news here in Cebu when i checked the inquirer.net. He is a good friend and im praying for his speedy recovery.

im confused. drive by ba talaga or was he shot point blank from behidn? reports from other sources claim the latter
eitherway, im praying for mac baracael’s speedy recovery and hoping that his assailant gets thrown in jail!

i think this is because of the gama ” hindi nya binenta” there was an issue between FEU and other team. he was asked to have the game ” BENTA ” but he did do what he was told.. omg!!!

i was doing my homework with the TV open and suddenly i was shocked to hear the news that Mac Baracael was shot. i’m a FEU as long as it is a UAAP competition. and this event is too much. it could change mac’s career. but don’t surrender yet mac. you can make it back. i’m sure some other people from the bedan community is praying for you. hope to see you again this season. remember what dwyane wade said, “FALL SEVEN TIMES, STAND UP EIGHT.”

forget about the shooter! please be more concerned about the status of baracael.. i dont care if he misses the whole season or even the next two or three for that matter, i pray he recovers and hope for the best..
