La Salle survive pesky Adamson in OT thriller

The De La Salle Green Archers, pushed to the limit by an underrated team, needed an extension periord last May 28, 2008 to clobber the Adamson University Falcons, 68-63, for fifth win in six outings at The Arena in San Juan City.
“It just happen that they (Falcons) really worked hard to keep the contest tightly close, but we proved that we can handle it,” said La Salle coach Franz Pumaren. “If you have the heart of a champion, you need to deliver like a champion. It is very simple.”
Rico Maierhofer and JV Casio showed the Falcons how to play tough especially in the overtime period by providing the necessary baskets to carry La Salle to a 5-1 slate and snapped Adamson’s four-game run and fall to a 4-2 card in Group A.
Maierhofer, with 17 points for the Green Archers, including 8 points in the extra period, fired a short jumper in the dying seconds for a 67-63 spread after Adamson’s Jerick Cañada scored from the free throw area at the other end to put the Falcons within two, 63-65.
But the Falcons could not overcome the odds this time and the UAAP defending champs went away with the win.
Maierhofer actually kept La Salle’s offensive going in overtime with a jumper for a 59-56 lead, after Malabes split his charities for a 57-56 count. The regulation period ended at 56-all.
Casio added 14 points for La Salle, while PJ Barua had 8 points. Allan Santos led Adamson with 13 points while Mike Galinato had 10 points.

nakakatawa ung isang die hard alumna ng la salle…. inaaway yung band ng adamsom. bawal na ba icheer n ng band ung basketball team nila? pati ung mga nanunuod lang na napapa-palkpak sa mgandang laro ng adamson eh inaaway din. hahaha nakakatuwa tlaga.

This game as I see it is a barometer that the Falcons are having great strides in terms of their level of play under the auspices of Coach Leo. The defending champs were taken down the wire before they grab the upperhand in this game.
So watch out..the Soaring Falcons are getting better..then…biased write ups will soon disappear..where every Adamsonian resonates with a battle cry..

One of the players of Adamson is a former green archer, its Mike Galinato.
Sus! Coach Leo Austria, i dont like his pilosophy in basketball because its so boring and madaling macheck.Just watch his past coaching at Welcoat Dragons, Nagimprove ba? diba kulelat palagi just like Coach Caloy “PaPogi” Garcia, puro talo dahil sa bulok na pilosophy nilang dalawa.

Ateneo puro sa UAAP & NCAA kumukuha ng players, pulpol naman pagnilaban mo sa mga construction workers. Larong mayaman.
Bat di kayo gumaya sa UE,FEU,CSJL,SSC-R & NU, kumukuha ng players na talagang malakas physically and mentally, tignan niyo galing pa sa mga hindi kilalang schools others walang varsity experience during High school.
Diyan mo makita na may politics involve sa rrecruitment nila.
