Clearly, the Cebuanos (UV Lnacers) have a clear advantage in the front court considering that they have big men of extraordinary proportion compared to most collegiate teams in the country right now. Nonetheless, evidences point to the fact that their big men are not their scoring machines. Ateneo on the other hand has more mobile guards and big men who are reliable scorers at the same time. So talking about match-up is a little irrelevant because they just don’t meet in several categories. So the judgment would now focus on who gets the fiery shots, i.e., the basic stuff of percentage shooting, overall. Both teams will rely mostly on courting Lady Luck and obviously who’s got the heart to win the game. Kudos to the hardworking men and women of CCL! I’m from Cebu area and yet I graduated from Ateneo. So ANIMO ATENEO!!!

as what i have assessed in the best of 5 finals against the university of san carlos, the warriors pushed the green lancers to a game 5 because of their tenacious help defense in the post. cesafi mvp, enrico llanto would deny an entry post pass to one of the big mens of UV thus confusing in there ball rotation and if ever one of the big men received it in the post, a quick help from the weak side would pressure the post player to kick it out (to dennison, lanete, deputado) which USC players always anticipated thus creating numerous turnovers in games 1 and 4 where UV was defeated. in the USJ-R semifinals series, the jaguars forced UV to play a slow deliberate offense. those 3 wins against USJR were decided by one point and the scores were always 78-79. therefore, for ateneo to beat uv, first, play a slow deliberate game, deny (or at least try to challenge) entry to the post and go back on defense ASAP!!! UV loves that patented baseball pass where they sparked numerous rallies in the CESAFI playoffs….but still, ateneo hasn’t scouted the way USC nor USJR did and being considered an unknown by imperial manila scouts, UV’s weakness won’t affect (hopefully) tomorrow since the scouting reports of USC and USJR are 7 seven in the making and couting. GO lancers!!!!!
