San Beda Cheers and Hymns now on CD

“Music offers the most sublime experience when it engulfs the singers, musicians and listeners in something greater than the individual, it can resonate with traditions, histories, and futures far beyond that immediate moment in which our ears bear witness.” - Cover of Umpah Umpah, San Beda College Battle Hymns and Cheers.
San Beda College, now back to back champions after 28 long years, very rich in basketball tradition, would like to share to everyone the cheers and battle cry hymns that kept the Bedan Community together after a long, long, long wait.
The San Beda Alumni has an old saying, “Once a Bedan, Always a Bedan”. If you have a classmate, a schoolmate, a bestfriend, an officemate, a compadre, a brother, even a former Red Cub or Red Lion, who have one way or another have been able to experience the Bedan way of Life, he, now including a she, will tell you about the Bedan brotherhood. It is something that a only a Bedan can explain. This CD is an outlet for us to express our passion and tradition that kept us together thru all those years of waiting and weeping. That hope every Bedan has been waiting for.
The CD comes with a glossy poster type insert and 25 tracks including 6 instrumental versions to sing your own rendition of the hymns that made Bedans Bedans.
Proceeds will go to the San Beda Cheerleaders and San Beda College Band.

The Galatasaray Chant is so cool! Can Ramon Ventosa incorporate it as an intro to Indian Yell? That would be dramatic and really astig! I hope someone could give him the info about galatasaray and have him watch and listen to it.

what do you think of ncaa/uaap unification? maybe ncraa too. that would be good for the fans and good for business too. who dosent want to see beda vs. lasalle? or ust vs. the recoletos? maybe down the road have a real national tournament and a “march madness” style playoff. crowning the one true collegiate bball champ.

Sioux, i am a bedan definitely, and i hit back hard when our institution gets attacked by low-lifes like Grrr! and animorah…this is so especially because like many bedans, i do not start a fight but i do not back out from it..i sort of give them a hard lesson if need be..i am both a gentleman and a fighter, and i believe this is the better approach where reality has both good and bad sides..pax, brother sioux..you have my respect as much as i do hope i have yours..rest assured i will tone down when these kids Grrr! and animorah learn their lessons and refrain from hitting san beda and bedans…go san beda fight!
red pride!
animo san beda!

Can we not live in peace? Have our respective Christian Schools failed us all? The Jesuits, Christian Brothers, Benedictines and Dominicans?
I request inboundpass.com to take a more resposive role in the promotion of sportsanship and friendship among CATHOLIC SCHOOLS.
Mike, my fellow Bedan, please take the lead. Some of your fellow writers in this site would much rather enjoy the hatred than promote peace. Disgusting but true.
To Bedans and posers, there is nothing to be gained from hatred.
It’s almost Christmas. This is just basketball. Let’s live in peace.
Pax!

Grrr, if you are an Atenean, you should know the roots of our own songs. Here’s a list:
http://animoateneo.com/cheers/songs
1. Hail! Ateneo, Hail!
Words and music from the “Fordham Ram, Fordham University, New York City
2. A Song for Mary
Music adapted from Calixa Lavallée’s “O Canada words by Fr. James Reuter, S.J.
3. Battle Song
Tune: Vagabond Song; Words by Fr. Horacio de la Costa, S.J.
4. Ateneo Victory Song
Tune: Battle Hymn of the Republic
5. The Ateneo Cadet Corps March
Tune: United States Field Artillery March; Words modified from Boston College High School March
6. The Hoiah
Words and music from “The Hoiah, Holy Cross College, Worcester, Mass.
What’s your problem with San Beda’s Victory Song?
I am an Atenean with deep Bedan roots. How about you?
