The University of the East is now 13-0 after slaying the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons in their poorest game this season, 99-59, at the Araneta Coliseum last September 8.

Jorel Canizares led the Red Warriors with 15 points while Mark Fampulme, Larry Llagas and Kelvin Gregorio also registered in double digits.

VJ Serios banked a hefty 20 points and grabbed 13 boards for the Fighting Maroons while Woody Co followed up with 12 points.

This is UP’s poorest game shooting only 18 of 72 or twenty five percent from the field.

Meanwhile Coach Dindo Pumaren announced his sentiments after the game.

“I know there are people who doubt us and do not want us to succeed, the Recto-based UE Coach said. “A lot of people are asking about sweep but we’d like to really just focus on our game.

UE’s final nemesis this season is current No.2 seed, the La Salle Green Archers, which they will be facing on Thursday at 4 PM at the Araneta Coliseum.

When asked which team he thinks has the advantage on Thursday’s match, Coach Dindo said he doesn’t know.

“We’ll see. We don’t talk about sweep. Just one game at a time talaga para hindi mapressure ‘ung mga bata

UE will go for win no. 14 to complete a sweep that will definitely make history.

There is a lot of politics goin on in UP. It’s really too bad for an institution like them to have this crab mentality crap. Check out Kim Lesaca’s column.
