After reading all your posts about the word Animo, I felt that it may be about time to get some first hand info from someone who was atually playing in the NCAA in the 1940s. You may find some links and have your opinions but still nothing beats first hand information.
Explaining what Animo meant to them in the 1940s is Mr. Eduardo “Mendy” Mendieta, the team captain of the 1947 - 48 NCAA Champion La Salle Seniors Basketball Team.

And the ADMU-SBC conspiracy against DLSU heats up even further….
Bakit hindi niyo ma-accept na ang ANIMO ay mas bagay, at mas kilalang associated with DSLU?
Animo Ateneo = nakita lang ito nung 2002.
Animo San Beda = after na nagchampion sila nung 2006.
They may have used it on their cheers even prior to this, but the fact remains that ANIMO is BETTER and more popularly associated with DSLU. They have used it consistently.
Pasensya na lang ang Beda at Ateneo, kahit ano pa ang gawin nilang pagkampi against DLSU, mas magaling pa rin ang DLSU.

rektikano, check the records: ANIMO HAS BEEN USED BY SAN BEDA AND ATENEO AS WELL AS EARLY AS THE INFANCY OF THE NCAA…u are so misinformed…do not suggest that it is only now that the other schools you are referring to are using the word in their more original cheers..again, and this has been posted here countless of times before, san beda’s animo means COURAGE, remaining true to its spanish context; while for ateneo, it is spirit or school spirit…now as for la salle, there was this old cheerleader from your side who agrees to san beda and ateneo’s usage of the word, and this contradicts the position of the present la salistas..now you are claiming that you have created or “invented” a new meaning for the word, which is, LA SALLE…i know there are two views, don’t say na hindi ko naiintindihan..gets na gets ko, brother…ang gusto ko lang malaman e ano ba ang official na meaning para sa inyo? yung dati ba o yung imbento nyo ngayon? yun lang naman…
now you have claimed for yourself that ANIMO MEANS LA SALLE…is this the official stand?
don’t get me wrong i respect your right to make out some new meaning to the word..u perfectly have that right…i am just after clarity here…pax!

Since a lot of skuls now are using animo, the meaning of the word “animo” has been redefined, but for us ANIMO=LA SALLE. you may have your own meaning of animo.
hindi kami magulo hindi mo lng maintindihan ang ibig sabihin ng animo sa amin. alright brother?

sa mga la salista, ano b talaga ang meaning ng animo sa inyo? yun bang sinasabi ng old cheerleader nyo o yung imbento nyo ngayon? don’t evade the question..u kids are so far-fetched…konting linaw lang..ang gugulo ng takbo ng isip nyo e..halata tuloy n di nyo alam kung ano pinagsasasabi nyo..hehehe…

Wow off topic na guys…
Can we just focus on the discussion and not let our emotions get the best of us? Again, bash the person but not the school and please use better words to do it… Always remember that we bring the name of our schools and our posts reflect the values and principles that were taught by our institutions… magdalawang isip tayo sa mga posts natin… are we really doing this to defend our schools or just make it look worse?
