UE Red Warriors sweep FIL-OIL

UNIVERSITY of the East Red Warriors has kept its unblemished record at the end of the elimination round with a 6-0 record.
The UE Red Warriors rolled to a hot start and the De La Salle Green Archers were badly beaten in a 77-64 decision on Wednesday in the FIL-OIL Flying V preseason invitational preseason cup at the Arena in San Juan City .
“The players have proven themselves that they are the toughest here in this league after JRU lost earlier against UST,� said Red Warriors coach Dindo Pumaren. “I’m hoping our attitude remains.�
Forward Kelvin Gregorio started the onslaught, firing 10 of his 18 points in the first period to give the Red Warriors a 20-14 lead with 2:17 to go. The Red Warriors were on cruise mode from there.
Bryan Fampulme scored 13 points, while James Martinez had 10 and Elmer Espiritu chipped in nine points to help the Red Warriors.
